Friday night we went to the Seattle Storm game...and had a 'back stage' tour along with seats in the 'suite'...this was a perk of Brett's 40 under 40 club.
Her new favorite thing to do...puts her head down and spins around. I recall this as a drinking game in college...
Upon returning home from a long day at work, Brett relieved his stress by letting little fingers poke his eyes and his nose. But when you hear those giggles, you would have let her do the same!
Father's Day started with a relaxing wake up with no alarms and no baby crying. How? Grandma graciously offered to take care of the kids so off we went! We had a massages, dinner out and then stayed at the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland (for those of you that don't know...this is 1 mile away from the place we call home but it was such a treat to 'get away')
After a relaxing morning, we took the long drive home where we were greeted by an excited Kinect-playing boy and a little girl who did the most adorable 'welcome home' dance...twirling till she got so dizzy, she landed in Grandma's lap. Simply precious.

Dad's new gift of an electric fly swatter was a big hit with Oli. However, here he thinks he might be the one to get swatted.

Grandma Jo arrived on Wednesday and she and Julia have one again become fast friends!

First grade talent show this friday...Oli is singing "Never Say Never" by Justin Bieber and his friend, Andrey is break dancing. The song is a dreaded 6 mins long. He has no fear...
Here we are in the gym...we haven't used it to workout in yet, but it is the perfect space to practice singing and dancing.
A summer's BBQ was a great way to make our perfect house feel even more like a home. The Feldhausen's (Brett's Aussie friends) and their 3 kids filled our home with warmth and noise (mostly laughter and a lot of their youngest telling Scout to "go away"...the most recent words she learned).

The 1st grade play at Juanita Elementary was Alice in Wonderland. Oli was a flower, a mean flower. He did great..remembered all 4 lines.
There were some funny funny moments of other kids screwing up...wish we had gotten that on video. But you will just have to settle with Oli's flawless performance.

Oli was coerced into a proper shirt but drew a line at wearing anything other than his running pants.
About 2 months ago, we were informed that Oli had a 2-5 minute presentation to do at school and his topic was electricity. About 1 month ago, the teacher emailed us that Oli had a long way to go for his presentation. That's all we needed to hear!
I took it on as my own personal challenge (with lots of help and support from Brett)....my promise to Oli was that we would work together to create a presentation and a poster that he was proud of. We built a plan and executed it (my little project manager protege).
Mission Accomplished!!! Today, he gave a great presentation! Some of our fond memories from this will be:
After an evening of working on his presentation, he asked me the next day if he could stay in from recess and work on his presentation. (really? you mean you are actually enjoying this!?)

Oli told us that he raised his hand to go first (that made us so proud that he was so proud!)
Oli saying, "I like socializing with you" (he meant 'summarizing', which is the skill 1st graders are supposed to be learning says the government)

He has a play tonight...he told us 2 nights ago, I have 4 lines and I think I know one of them. Well, I know all of them, but I don't know what order. Love it! This might be a night to remember!

Oli: Because here is where I get closer to school and further away from you guys.
We were lucky enough to go to the U2 concert last Saturday - it was a stunningly beautiful Seattle day and to spend it at an outside stadium listening to great music wiht great friends. What more can you ask for?
We showed up at Andrew and Leslie's house, whom invited us to the concert and were with 20 other friends and a party bus! Now that is the way to roll...
Lenny Kravitz was the opening act - spectacular!
Brett said it was the best concert he has ever been to in regards to the effects - and he has been to a LOT of concerts!

We've moved and 24 hours later we have our first house guest! Brett's step-mum, or more fondly called, Nani-too, has arrived!
