We were happy to host the second annual Pumpkin Carving Party. Like all good traditions, our guests (Gossett's and Bishop's) showed up with power tools in hand and motivation to match. That motivation was needed since we all took on more challenging carvings this year. But what remained constant was Oli running around in his Halloween costume supervising the work.
"You are doing really well, Dad". (if you don't recognize him, he is Jenga Fett from Starwars)
Serious work going on here....
The final products. For those of you that troll the blog-scene, you will know that Miss Natalie is letting her viewers guess on who's is who so I won't be revealing that on our blog. Check hers out later this week to see.
Like all good parties, this one took some prep work. Starting in May, we planted our pumpkin plant. We were so pleasantly surprised at our crop this year - 6 excellent pumpkins. Here are two from our harvest.
There is our 6 pumpkins and our favorite 6 year old.
While Oli and I were preparing the food for the party, Captain Brett was cleaning the boat. It took 6 hours or more and he can barely move. Next year, I think we will be having a Boat Cleaning Party along with the Pumpkin Carving.
Oli putting our crudite platter together, which was in the shape of a cat. You can see that he is referencing a picture on the laptop to follow. This was one of those crafty things that needed the picture to help you figure out what it was. But all that matters is that he enjoyed the process and was so proud of the result.
