Our Very Own Plankton

Julia is such a blessing, in the truest sense of the word. I am overwhelmed by emotion when I think of how lucky we are to have such a perfect little being join our family.

Her feet are the funniest longest flippers. Here is Oli's little hand with her big feet.

They are nearly the length of her knee to ankle. Where did those come from? Two potential nicknames are Big Foot and Flipper. To put it in perspective, the footprints they took at the hospital filled the box that they have for all babies. However, her length and weight are 10th percentile. Maybe a swimmer in our midst.

So peaceful...
Oli was so excited to meet his baby sister. A precious moment. He was incredibly gentle and sweet with her. Always asking, "do you think she likes this?" as he bounced her or kissed her.
That lasted about 10 mins and then he was back to wanting to play his Nintendo. We took that as a great sign...we will try and keep Oli's life as routine as possible with this new addition.

Our goal is to get 1 hour of fresh air each day. Here we are at Juanita Beach to give Scout a chance to swim and us a chance to try out the BOB. Everyone was happy (yes, Julia is in the stroller :)).

Run Scout, Run! Julia peacefully slept through all of his howling. A sound she undoubtedly heard a lot of in the womb.

Wouldn't be right not to mention our other addition to the family. The day before Julia was born, Brett brought home a new car. Welcome, Mercedes to the Alston Family. Brett is loving it!

Oli'ism #59:
"Dad, can we take the Ferrari?!"
Oli'ism #60:
Background: Oli has had the pet name "shrimp" for as long as I have known him.
Brett: "Oli, I think you are no longer the shrimp. Julia is the shrimp of the family."
Oli: "I am still the shrimp and you are the whale, Wendy is the lobster and Julia is the plankton"
