(Guest posting by Brett :-) )
Well the day was finally here, Boston Marathon 2011. I'd done all that i could to get ready, but it was still going to be a long day - starting with lining up with 26,000 other runners to get onto 600 school buses at 7am, for a 10:40 start. The race was perfect and everything i wanted it to be. Perfect weather, perfect atmosphere and perfectly noisy crowds (including some of the 300,000 spectators dressed up as Elvis, Santa, bands singing along the way a 30ft high replica of the Eiffel Tower built in someone’s front yard to serve as a beer drinking / viewing platform!).
Throughout the run i had the chance to chat with some amazing people all with their own inspirational stories, including the chance to run alongside Team Hoyt around mile 22 - they are truly an inspiration to many (http://www.teamhoyt.com). I also found myself reflecting upon everyone that has been so influential in my life, made me into the person I am today, none more so than Wendy. I continue to me in awe of everything she can accomplish, always so selflessly, always with a smile on her face, including I might add finishing this challenging course a full 1hr and 20 minutes faster than me! I love you so much for that and so much more.
Below are a few pictures that Wendy was able to capture along the way, I too took a few mental photographs that will last me a lifetime.
At mile 17, Wendy was there with a big sign that read, "Brett"...I could see it from far away, even if she did have it turned upside down.
Look at all those people running and spectating - the whole course was like this or even more people!
Ah, the sense of accomplishment.

Congratulations Brett! A huge accomplishment!
I saw Team Hoyt on the Iron Man Triathalon and could not stop crying - what a truly amazing family. You are very blessed to have gotten to run along side them.
Way to go! It was nice to hear the race through your voice, Brett. Thanks for sharing.
