Oh boy...what a day! Even though there was snow in the forecast, my birthday brunch (hosted by my dear friend Natalie) was fully attended. I love how I am surrounded by friends who aren't gonna let a little snow stop them from helping to celebrate my birthday!
Us 6 ladies made our way to Natalie's and had a wonderful brunch watching the snow fall and fall. A couple of hours later, with 8 inches of snow on the ground....getting home wasn't exactly as easy as was hoped. Read on...

| First, Marisa's car gets stuck just outside of Natalie's driveway. Here she gives it her all with her red heels. |
 |
| As good friends do, Ashlie and Natalie started to help...while the helpful neighbors drove the car. Didn't work... |
 |
| So, I offered to take Marisa home with me to inevitably spend the rest of the day/night. This was taken just moments before I attempted down this hill where several cars were already crashed into each other. We started sliding immediately, all I could do was give a little honk to make sure the guys up ahead could get out of the way. But they didn't! They stood there and waited for my car to get to them and then stopped it 5 ft before colliding head on to a parked car. I wanted to hug them! And I was begging them to let me just leave the car there and we would walk back to Natalie's. While that was an option, they assured me somewhere else would crash into it.....moments later, a car stopped just 2 ft from running into the back of me. So, these guys convinced me I could get the car into the driveway and park it. Sure, they said it was easy but when I asked them to do it for me, they said, "no way". With their support, encouragement and a bit of pushing, I made it into the "Sales Person of the Year Parking Spot" and Marisa, Julia and I set off to walk 1 mile back to Natalie's. |
 |
| A few minutes later, we were offered a ride... |
 |
| And graciously accepted it! Hopefully the first and last time that Julia will be in a police car. |
We settled into Natalie's house expecting to be there for at least the night, maybe until Wed which was fine by me. We were safe and surrounded by friends! However, Brett and Bob...rescued us! They started driving Brett's car and only got 2 houses away (with Bob on the trunk to add weight) and decided against driving. So, they started to walk. An hour later, somebody stopped them asking for directions and in return they asked for a ride. Sounds like it was ONE treacherous ride but they made it back to my car where they expertly drove it to Natalie's and whisked us away. My knights in a shining (and still in one piece) Volvo.

| One last effort, got Marisa's car moving (Chris driving; Brett/Bob pushing). Chris drove it until she was fully on the highway where they switched drivers and we drove Chris back home. |
All in all, a birthday celebration I will not forget. Not only did we have a great brunch, much needed girl talk and lovely presents but...a day filled with friends and husbands and strangers going out of their way to help each other out.
