Easter 2012

Easter came and went in a fury in our house, but it didn't go uncelebrated!  Easter egg dying, easter egg hunts both at home and then the neighborhoods.  Pictures explain it all.

A bowl of white eggs dying to be dyed.

Love this...Julia reading the instructions.  Such a girl!

Oli inspecting the white egg, Julia mesmerized by the water changing colors.

Wish they would have stopped here but then they both got creative...putting eggs back into the colors, drawing on eggs, stickers on eggs.  These brightly colored eggs that I hoped would decorate the baskets all turned into muted brown colors...but the joy they had in the process was much better than the vision I had :).

Oli waiting and waiting for just the right depth of color.

Julia checking herself out in the mirror with her adorably bunny ear hair clips.

Easter morning..."I knew the bunny would come!"  He ran around finding almost all of the eggs while Julia quietly looked into her basket.  Oli, without being asked, found the eggs but one egg went to Julia's basket, one to his.  He loves his sister so much.

"No, Mom, I'm not eating any jelly beans"

I volunteered to be the event co-chair for our neighborhood and one of the 3 events is the Easter Egg Hunt.  We couldn't have had better weather...and we had 50+ kids and about 200 people total.  A great event for all and I enjoyed the planning and has been a great way to meet some of the influential and involved people in our neighborhood.

The 'little kid' hunt was so sweet...all the little kids gently walking around finding little eggs.  Walking right past one to find another.

Oli finding over 30+ eggs in the 'big kid' hunt.
