Ragnar 2011 was another fun event...however, while I wasn't on the team (due to my back), Marisa McFarland and I competed in our own little adventure in attempt to have breakfast waiting for the team when they arrived at 6am at the Walsh's Whidbey house.
Leg #1: Trying to make the 3:30pm ferry to Whidbey Island ...
(SUCCESS: made it on time but the 2 hour wait changed our plans to then walk on the ferry vs drive on)
Leg #2: Trying to find a legal spot to park overnight so that we could walk on to the ferry
(FAIL: we illegally parked based on Marisa's gut feel that we would only get a ticket and not get towed.)
Leg #3: Trying to carry on our overnight bags, groceries for the team's breakfast, a flat of hand picked raspberries, whinnie the pooh, while pushing a stroller and being pulled by a hound
(SUCCESS: if you consider the grandparents and Washington State Ferry workers who lent a hand...they did help themselves to the raspberries as gratitude)
Marisa carrying the load for Leg #2 (note the raspberries precariously perched on the BOB - surprisingly we didn't lose any unless you count the grandpa who helped himself while he pushed Julia onto the ferry)
My teammate, Marisa...so much fun to spend quality time with her!
We're still smiling even when we find out that we have to stay down with the cars since we have a dog.
Julia and Beckett coloring away...while the team eats a hearty breakfast
Julia showing off her moves at the Ragnar Finish line....and then stops and realizes that being chased may be more fun.
Charlie and Beckett enjoying the finish line festivities
