Vancouver Half Marathon

What a fun weekend we had in Vancouver!

We spent some quality time with each other and our friends Nat and Mike. Saturday was filled with lazy strolls along the marina and going to the race expo. And today was the opposite...I ran the half marathon with Nat and Mike and Brett ran the 8k.

Apparently "Getting up at 5am for just an 8k is not worth it". Oh, but it is!

Mike and I in the race chute...butterflies in the tummies. I love every minute of racing...the expo the day before, the crowds, the commaderie and of course, the finish line!

After the race. If you look close, you can see a very proud look on my face. I ran the Half Marathon in 1hr 33 min ( 7:07 splits), 5th in my division and 30th female overall (Edit by Brett - in a field of over 7000 runners, that's simply excellent!). 5 mins faster than Mercer Island Half Marathon 5 weeks ago. I didn't know I had it in me!

Nat completed her frist Half Marathon today - IT band problems and all! Way to go, Nat! We will be cheering Mike on in 5 weeks during his first Half Ironman - impressive! (not sure who's trying to push who over in this funny game however, must be a weird Canadian thing..)
