This weekend, we tried boat camping on Blake Island for the first time. It was a trial run for when DaddyDave is here and we have him and Oli with us. We were thrilled that Nick and Camron joined us on this adventure. Good news - Blake Island is most definitely DaddyDave and Oli approved!
Setting up camp...not a bad place to spend the night!
Part of the adventure was using the MicroDinghy to ferry our stuff and us from the campsite back to the boat. Camron used her skills when she was a river guide to master the rowing and the current, while I sat back and enjoyed the ride.
And then it was Nick's turn...Camron rowed while Nick held onto the cooler, his shoes and my backpack...the cooler opened twice, feeding the local seals, one shoe floated away and the backpack just about sank the MicroDinghy. Maybe two trips were needed...
The look of relief (even had time to pose for this pic) after we got through the locks without any of the guards yelling at us - phew! All credit goes to Captain B!
