Bathtub Baby

We took Julia to her very first swim class today, Bathtub Babies. It was a 2 1/2 hour workshop that consisted of an 'engaging' powerpoint presentation, land time and water time. Regardless of the flavor of time, it was well worth our time! We learned a lot about infant development and things we can do with Julia in and out of the water. Here are a few pictures to bring it to life for you.

A twist on 'tummy time'. Tummy down on an exercise ball. She wasn't totally sure she enjoyed this but she liked it WAY more than standard tummy time.
And then backwards on the ball. Note the death grib Dad has on her ankles (i think her toes turned blue!)

Hang time! Seemed a bit bizarre but then again she was upside down in my womb for weeks so no wonder she was so comfortable.

And after the 'engaging' powerpoint presentation and the land time, Julia completely passed out. Hmm...what about the water time?

We coerced her with her new swimsuit...she looked adorable.

She spent the 45 minutes in the water asleep with her eyes open and knowing that she was a good sport (well, for most of it).

She got her ears in the water which is meant to be a relaxing. Ears half in and half out creates a loud sound which brought out Ms. Grumpy-pants.

"Now that class is over, maybe these people will let me sleep."

Brett calls this her George Washington impression. Call it whatever you want, makes me giggle everytime I see it.
