When I bought my first house (age 24), I made a goal to have all artwork in my house be by people I knew. At the time, that was probably due to lack of budget more than anything else :).
8 years later and that goal has been realized. Our walls are filled with photographs and paintings all by people we know. The best art is by far by David, Brett's dad. He is a very talented artist and we just received the most recent piece of art, a pastel. It is a pastel of photo taken when Oli, Brett and David were on Blake Island camping. A three-generation trip that was filled with memorable moments and has a well deserved place in our home.
We could not open it until we were at the framing store in an effort to reduce any smudges. So while this iphone photo does not do it justice, you can get a glimpse.
Here is the photo that David used as inspiration.
Julia is loving her bathtime and tonight she was air-boxing so I decided to join her.
