Pumpkin Push 5k 2010

A day I won't soon forget. Oli sharing and LOVING my passion of running.

Last Saturday, we bundled up and participated in the Pumpkin Push 5k. We weren't sure how much Oli would run or not...he surprised us all (and himself). He ran the entire thing with 5 walking breaks and even up the BIG hill.

As we ran, his mouth was going as fast as his legs. For anyone that doubts that endorphins aren't produced by exercise, run with Oli.

He was so engaged during the run. We talked the entire time all about the race, timing chips, mile markers, saving some energy for the hill, the push at the finish line, friendly trash talking (he liked that!), and on and on and on.

He made my day and several other runners got a chuckle along the way by his enthusiasm.

As soon as he got home, he wanted to look up another 5k.

Walking to the start line.

Oli's new prized shirt...he tried to wear it everyday this week and loves that all 4 of us have matching shirts.

This video just begins to show his excitement.

Oli'ism #156:
Wendy: Oli, I just had a day dream that in about 1o years you will be the one that is coaching me during a race.
Oli: That just made my day that you said that.
Wendy: I hope that you keep me running.
Oli: Yeah, I could cheer you on. Or I could push you in a wheel chair.
I am not sure I have ever smiled so much writing a blog post. What a fun time we shared together!

Okay, I have to know: what was Oli's time? If he beat me with his five walking breaks, I might need him to coach me to (or push me in a wheelchair!)
