Maui - Big Beach

Against all warnings, we went to Big Beach.  The beach was stunning and well worth the risk (coming from the pregnant lady who sat on at sand :)).  The risk is that the waves are big and crash right on shore...creating an amazingly fun place to bodysurf but is also the place with significant head and neck injuries.

As you will see a lack of Brett in the water...I was secretly glad that he avoided the adventure and was there next to me to enjoy the youthfulness that came out of our friends.

The excitement of the waves was almost magical...up and down the beach were adults of all ages (up to 60+) rolling around in the waves, getting sand who knows where and howling with laughter.

Brett and I felt like parents for the first time all week watching our 'children' in the water...here is Ben who has stolen Karin's bikini bottoms coming up the beach.

Giggling to himself, like a little schoolboy.

After long enough (mind you Karin was a good sport), he ran in to return them.  I actually think he would have kept them longer had the waves not been calling his name again.

The return...

Like I said...the waves seem to shave off a 3 decades from everyone's lives.  Here Mike has buried his legs.
