Some Firsts...

A lot of firsts for the Alston's to report...

Julia had her first haircut on Mother's Day.

They take a before picture...here she is feeling very special about her hair cut.  We did an adequate job of talking it up...

She was so still and knew it was something important.

Until about 7 mins in and then she got all wiggly.

Oli before he had braces...

Oli after he had braces.  Last Friday he got his first phase of braces...an expander to make room for the final adult teeth to come in and then later on he will have the full set of braces.  The biggest shock to me is that having braces is WAY cool now. 

First time Pooh Bear went on a kayak ride...

And first time Brett took our new kayak out for a test drive.

Scout going to meet Brett.  We're going to get a lot of use out of the kayak...just a simple stroll to the water and away we go.

Oli chose a nicer day for his first kayak ride...and his confidence shone right through.  We took it on the back of the boat, adn the first thing he does is stand on the side to get in which just about sinks it.  He gets shouted at but that doesn't stop him from trying again and kayaking as far away from us as we would challenge him.

And for those of you that we haven't had a chance to tell yet...there will be my first c-section this Friday (breech baby).
