Tillicum Village

During our Friday night out with Brett and Sarah, they asked us, "what is your life like?". Well, along the line of that question, I will share what the environment is that I write this blog (in a bulleted list of course, because that is all I know how to write). It is 6:30pm on Sunday...

- Brett is on his laptop, like me...but he is responding to emails not blogging

- Scout (freshly bathed) and Torri (Julie's dog who spent the weekend with us) are staring out the back doors ready to chase the family of rats we have recently discovered living under our woodshed. Maybe there will be a future posting about the rat family.

- Dinner is cooking itself in our crock pot (Rosemary Chicken: a detox friendly meal. I am 15 days into a 21 day program). There will definitely be a posting at the end of the detox.

- There is a wonderful fire burning in our wood burning stove (thanks, honey!)

- The dryer just buzzed, it is time to fold some clothes

I can't say this is a typical Sunday...but it is a current snapshot of our lives. And here are some highlights from our weekend:
Tillicum Village
A year ago, at the Habitat for Humanity Auction we bought 4 tickets to Tillicum Village on Blake Island to visit the Native American center and experience some Native American dances. On Friday evening, we went with Brett Clifton and Sarah. and we were the youngest peopel on the tour by at least half. As Brett said, "the time with them will be more memorable than Tillicum Village".

This is the 4-some getting on the boat, called "Goodtime II".

One of the many dancers. This particular mask weighs 40lbs...he has one strong neck!
This is how the dinner was prepared. Those are salmon in these huge tweezers and are stuck in the sand pit with a fire in the center. The salmon is smoked for 2 hours.
(future post about the Pumpkin Push)
