Choice Day!

A week ago, Brett and I stayed up late planning "Choice Day" for Oli (just now getting the photos up on the blog). Choice Day is a day centered around choices being presented to Oli. This was in honor of the end of the school year and his best efforts in kindergarten.

Oli woke up to a message in the hallway. Reads "TODAY IS YOUR CHOICE DAY" with colorful envelopes containing his choices.
Choice #1: Waffles or Eggs for breakfast. Waffles it is, sir.
Choice #2: Choose 3 or 5 vegetable plants for our garden. (yes, this choise was planted, no pun intended). However, he really enjoyed the trip to Molbak's where Maro now works.

Maro had one of her colleagues all geared up to show Oli how his new Venus Fly Trap plant works. He has named his carniverous plant "Max" and is very dedicated to making sure Max gets enough to eat.

Mama Maro showing us the way around her workplace to choose just the right plants! We wound up with the following plants: pumpkin, tomato, lettuce, beans, mint, chocolate mint, rosemary, oregano, and onions (much to Brett's displeasure). For those of you paying attention, yes, that is much more than 5....

Exploring other carniverous plants!

Choice #3: Playtime with the remote control boat or skateboarding. Skateboarding!

Choice #4: Cirque du Soleil or Take a Nap. Come on, we had already bought tickets so had to force his hand on this one.
A fantastic show!!! Oli loved it and is still talking about the acts, particularly the contortionists.

Choice #5: Cheesecake Factory or Asian Wok (local chinese) for dinner. Two restaurants that he has been asking to go to. He chose Asian Wok...we suffered thru some mediocre at best chinese food to realize that the fascination with this restaurant is only for the fortune cookies. Next time, we are just going to get the cookies and skip the meal.
