Science Spectrum - Fred Hutchinson

Tonight we went to a Fred Hutchinson educational evening called Science Spectrum. We thoroughly enjoyed it - thanks Pat for the invitation!

The event featured 4 doctors that spoke about their research in the war against cancer. Their work is incredibly exciting and their passion was contagious. We learned about t-cells and exploding tumors, the impact of taking hormone replacement therapy and an increase in breast cancer and the progress of the HIV vaccine. Wow. Our jobs seem insignificant after that.

We were fascinated by the speakers and look forward to more events like this. However, if we are ever invited back, we will know not to wear jeans.

When I got home, Brett was ready to go wearing this. We decided that he needed to dress up a bit.

So we decided on this....

However, he should have worn this....
Next time we will make a phone call... "Nick, what are you going to wear?"
