Happy 6th Birthday, Oli!

Celebrating Oli's 6th birthday yesterday was fantastic. We woke up from our indoor camp out and finished building the lego's from the night before. It was finished very quickly in order to open up all of the rest of the gifts - boy, did he get some fun stuff! Thanks to all of you for spoiling him!

A set of new fish for his bedroom - thanks Pop and Nanny-too. Now making sure he knows which stickers are ok for walls and which aren't....

Bakugan's...a japanese magnetically sprung ball game. Bizarre and very cool - thanks, Lewis!

Dancing to some of his new music from Auntie Penny and imitating the dancing robot from Auntie Karen.

A highlight was trying out his new skateboard from Grandma and Grandad Mike. We shouldn't
be surprised that Oli wanted to try jumping down the concrete stairs after 30 mins.

The afternoon was all about his birthday party...we had a great turnout for his swim party! We enjoyed seeing Oli interact with his new kindergarten friends and all the new parents were quite chatty which I loved.

The little girl said, "Thanks for inviting me. But next time you shoudl really have a princess party." Oli's face says it all...

On Sunday, we spent the day volunteering at the Breast Cancer 3 Day in honor of Jo-Mum's recent diagnosis. I would have like to do the walk but with Oli's birthday and Jen's wedding last night, we opted to volunteer (note - being 5 months pregnant is no excuse, our friend Catherine did it 7 months pregnant!).
We passed out t-shirts to the women who not only finished the 60 mile walk but who were also breast cancer survivors. These women were SO proud. It was incredible to be around their spirit. We were moved to tears several times throughout the day so Brett balanced out that emotion with his dancing! He danced like this for 3 hours to the delight of the many women crossing the finish line.

Oli'ism #82: On Friday night when we were camping indoors, Brett was reading Oli a story. The word "half" was in the story and with brett's accent, he says it differently, right? So Oli said, "Dad, do you want to learn how to say 'half' properly like me? I can teach you."

Who knew Brett was such a great dancer?!? Our next party should be a DANCE party!

Glad to hear Oli had a great b-day. Smiled to see the shirt he chose to wear to his party. :)
