It's a Girl

We were thrilled to know the gender of our little "it". All of our family members were hoping and predicting that it was a girl - and they were right! We are just happy to know there is still a baby in there that is wiggling (very wiggly, active with places to go & people to see) and healthy.

The ultrasound showed so much, it was incredible. The things that we were told (and figure there were many more things not told to us) were: making sure that the stomach, heart, kidneys and diaphram were all in the right places, that the stomach had some fluid in it, meaning that she is swallowing, the ventricles of the heart are the right size, the lobes of the brain are correct, the leg bones are measuring up nicely, there isn't any sign of a cleft lip and on and on. We loved seeing her little feet and her profile.
Proof that the little baby is a girl...she promptly did as soon as they started the ultrasound. We will have to teach her not to show off like that in the future.
Look at those runner's legs...she will be beating me at 5k's in no time! At one point I looked over at Brett and he had a very worried look on his face. I asked what was wrong and he said that one leg was twice as long as the other & visualized her running around in circles. It turned out to be just fine and is now a funny memory.
A great shot of her spine...seemed a bit curvy to me but they confrimed that she is just wiggling around in there.
And there she is - precious little thing. We waved good-bye to her and will see her when she arrives in this world. (There are no other planned ultrasounds)
